The Growth of Guru Nanak Sweets
From Humble Beginnings to a Trusted Legacy
In 1985, Chandigarh was still developing. Shingara Singh Ghuman from Pawala Village began delivering fresh dairy products—milk, butter, ghee, khoya, paneer, and cream—across the city on his bicycle, with the support of his sons.

In 1987, his sons introduced sweets and namkeen snacks, gaining popularity in Chandigarh. The family opened their first store, Guru Nanak Sweets in Sector 44, focusing on hygiene and quality, earning love and trust from the local community.

In 1993, the family expanded to Sector 37, Chandigarh, aiming to reach more people. They gained loyal customers by offering desi ghee sweets, dairy products, snacks like samosas, and their most popular item—crispy, freshly made jalebi.

In 1999, after great success in Chandigarh, the family opened a store in Phase 10, Mohali, with a vegetarian restaurant offering Indian, South Indian, Chinese, and chaat dishes. Its popularity led to another restaurant launch in Chandigarh.
